A Biblical, historical novel about the family of Shimon, a weaver in the first century in Jerusalem, who is the man chosen by God to prophesy over His son Jesus as He was born. We follow the lives of him and his family as they live under Roman occupation. Shimon dies and we follow his life in the afterlife of righteous biblical Sheol. We follow the life of a rich man, Lachish, who dies and goes into unrighteous Sheol, as we see the negative spiritual realm. Shimon’s family interacts with the followers of Jesus. We witness the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as He trains disciples to become His church. This story exposes the principles of life, death and what happens afterward, salvation, the workings of the spirit realm as well as the physical and cultural realms.
Excellent fast moving story. I loved this book, read it in less than a week. I find fiction that is written in historical context fascinating. The weaving of multiple characters into the narrative and their relationships with each other was very well done.
